When to Use Maxistrip 30 vs 240
Pro Tip: Start with Maxistrip 30 to remove top layers quickly, then follow with Maxistrip 240 for complete substrate cleaning.
Use Maxistrip 30 for fast removal of newer acrylics, surface layers, or where a thin coat is sufficient to blister paint.
Use Maxistrip 240 for deep-penetrating removal of older, multi-layered, or lead-based coatings, and when working on hot days or large surface areas where slower evaporation helps.
Application Overview
Before starting: Always read the product label and SDS. Wear PPE and use our lead test kit to assess risk.
1. Brush: Apply with a natural fibre brush for targeted coating thickness.
2. Spray: Use the INDUS 20 sprayer (available for hire/purchase) for fast, even application.
3. Scrape: Use a tungsten carbide scraper or plastic spatula to lift paint. Nylon brushes reach deep grooves.
4. Waterblast: If no lead is present, waterblast with industrial felt underneath to trap residue.

Step by Step Instructions
1. Preparation
- Mask off adjacent surfaces.
- Lay down industrial felt, plastic, and catch trays to contain scrapings.
- Test a small area to determine dwell time; it varies by coating type and conditions.
2. Application
- Apply Maxistrip 30 for newer acrylics or initial removal.
- Use Maxistrip 240 for older, thick coatings including lead-based and two-pot enamels.
- Apply evenly in thick layers or build up gradually to avoid runs.
- For best results, follow the INDUS 20 start-up guide.
3. Removal
- Scrape thoroughly using suitable tools.
- For intricate or hard-to-scrape surfaces, agitate with nylon brush.
- Water scrub with abrasive pad and industrial felt to catch residue.
- No sanding required, eliminating lead dust risk.
